The Portal games are very special to me, and have a very special place in my heart. I've replayed the first and second game multiple times, and have cried all the times i've heard the Turret Opera and the Want You Gone songs at the end of the second game. It feels like such a reward.
My personal story with the series dates way back to when i was very little, my parents used to work at night so me and my older brother would stay at my grandma's house until they'd come back home. Usually i'd just sit around and draw stuff, while my brother would sit at the computer playing games, I would watch him play from a distance sometimes, but never bothered too much to know what he was actually playing, until one day he called me, and showed me the end of portal 2, i remember watching the turret opera and being absolutely FASCINATED by it. Years passed, and though i had forgotten about the game, that music never really left my mind. When suddenly my brother, once again, called me to his room and told me to sit on his desk and play a game he had open on his computer. I was a little confused at first, since it wasnt very common for him to do that, but I started playing anyway. The game he made me play was Portal 1! I played for a little bit, really liked it, and asked him to share his steam account with me so i could play it on my laptop. I eventually finished the game, and almost immediately wanted to buy and play the second game. I played it for days on end, until I finished the game, and when I did, I CRIED. A LOT, when listening to the ending songs again, listening to those songs again after so long just hit me with memories like a truck. At that point I was already fully emotionally attached to the series.
